How to Feel More Grounded (Without Overcomplicating It)

I used to think “grounding” meant having some elaborate morning routine—like an hour of meditation, journaling, and a perfectly crafted matcha latte. Spoiler alert: I am not that person.

What I learned is that grounding isn’t about what you do—it’s about finding small ways to reconnect with yourself throughout the day. Some mornings, that looks like standing barefoot outside with my coffee, even if it’s just for 30 seconds. Other times, it’s as simple as swapping my usual stiff-soled sneakers for Xero Shoes, which let my feet actually move and connect to the ground the way they’re supposed to.

The biggest lesson? Grounding doesn’t have to be a whole event. It’s about bringing more presence into your day, however that looks for you.
